Article 58-2 (Korea Waste Association) of the Waste Management Act

Mission

To promote the development of the waste management sector through research, technology development, and the dissemination of information (Article 58-2 of the Waste Management Act).
To serve as a central platform that provides integrated support across the waste management sector by bridging the government, local governments, and industry.

Key Functions

(Pursuant to Article 58-2 of the Waste Management Act and Article 36-3 of its Enforcement Decree)

  • Providing guidance, conducting surveys and research to support the development of the waste management industry

  • Conducting public outreach, education, and training programs related to waste management

  • Promoting international exchange and cooperation in the waste management sector

  • Implementing projects commissioned by the central or local governments

  • Performing other functions as stipulated in the Association’s Articles of Incorporation

Major Activities

Supporting the development and implementation of circular economy policies, Organizing policy consultations with the government, Conducting performance evaluations in the circular economy sector, Producing and managing waste-related statistics, Hosting technical seminars and workshops, Disseminating relevant information and best practices
